About Four Paws Press

Four Paws Press was created from a simple place, a love for dogs, storytelling, and the moments that stay with us long after they’re gone.

What started as personal writing turned into something more. After years of drafting letters, essays, and reflections, one story about a little Yorkie named Lucy found its way into a children’s book. That story became the beginning of the Lucy and the Squirrel series, a collection built around curiosity, seasons, and the small adventures that feel big when you’re living them.

Four Paws Press is an independent imprint focused on creating warm, character-driven stories for children and families. Every book is written and illustrated with care, with a focus on simple storytelling, expressive characters, and a style that feels both nostalgic and approachable.

At the heart of it all is Lucy, a spirited Yorkie whose world is full of wonder, mischief, and discovery. Her stories are inspired by real moments, real pets, and the kind of everyday joy that often gets overlooked.

This isn’t about building a big publishing machine. It’s about creating something lasting stories that can be read again and again, shared between generations, and remembered.

Four Paws Press is built one story at a time… with heart, with purpose, and yes… with four paws leading the way.
