Four Paws Press Launches Four Seasons Children's Book Collection Just in Time for Christmas
Four complete Lucy and Sammy adventures, exclusive bonus content, and more than 42% savings in one $29.99 illustrated collection.
ST. LOUIS, MO, November 4, 2026 – Four Paws Press LLC announces the release of Lucy and the Squirrel: Four Seasons Collection, a new 135-page illustrated children's book bringing together four seasonal adventures featuring Lucy, a curious little Yorkshire Terrier, and Sammy, her mischievous squirrel friend.
Available on Amazon for $29.99, the collection offers parents and grandparents a Christmas gift that children can enjoy long after the holiday decorations have been put away.
"Christmas morning is just the beginning," said D. Schrader, author and founder of Four Paws Press. "A book is a gift that families can return to again and again. With Lucy and Sammy, children have four seasons of adventures to enjoy, whether it's a snowy winter afternoon or a warm summer evening."
Four Seasons, Two Friends, One Wonderful Year
The collection follows Lucy and Sammy through an entire year of friendship and discovery.
Their adventures begin in fall, when a curious little dog encounters a lively squirrel in her backyard. As the seasons change, their friendship grows through winter snow, springtime surprises, and sunny summer days.
Created for children ages 3–7, the stories celebrate kindness, curiosity, friendship, and the simple pleasures of exploring the world together.
In addition to the four complete original stories, the collection features new seasonal opening illustrations, four playful poems, an introductory poem celebrating the changing seasons, and a special Christmas bonus featuring a touch of holiday mystery.
The result is a single volume that combines the original adventures with new material created especially for the collection.
Four Complete Adventures for Just $29.99
The collection also provides families with substantial savings compared with purchasing the four original books separately.
Each individual Lucy and the Squirrel picture book has a regular list price of $12.99.

The savings are based on the combined regular list prices of the four individual editions. The $29.99 collection price is its regular suggested retail price, not a temporary holiday discount. Actual retailer selling prices may vary.
Along with the savings, readers receive exclusive bonus illustrations, poetry, and Christmas content not included in the original individual editions.
A Christmas Gift That Lasts All Year
While many holiday gifts are enjoyed for a few days or weeks, the Four Seasons Collection is designed to be revisited throughout the year.
Children can follow Lucy and Sammy's snowy adventures during winter, rediscover their springtime surprises as flowers bloom, enjoy summer fun during school vacations, and return to the beginning of their friendship when autumn leaves start to fall.
For parents and grandparents, the collection offers opportunities to build reading traditions and share time together.
"One of the greatest rewards of writing children's books is imagining a parent or grandparent sitting with a child and hearing those wonderful words, 'Read it again,'" Schrader said. "That's what these stories are really about: creating moments worth remembering."
